[Salem, Massachusetts?], June 27, 1806. First edition. Engraved map, partially colored. 21 1/2 x 27 1/8 inches; 546 x 689 mm, old color. Trimmed within top and bottom plate marks, plate mark visible on both left and right sides, neat lines and borders preserved save for a few small paper losses to top neat line. Later linen backing, creased along old folds, chipping to top and bottom edges, approximately 1 1/2 inch; 38 mm, tear expertly repaired top left corner, approximately 3 inch; 76 mm, tear expertly repaired top center, approximately 1 inch long; 25 mm, and 1/4 inch wide blister top right. Lightly toned, pencil annotations to bottom left and right margins, some staining; overall very good condition. Without annotation to left of the cartouche, which is present in the second edition and later re-strikes.
