Significant deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is lined; painting does not appear to easily removed from frame rabbet; a repaired tear accompanied by inpainting extends through the bottle neck, approximately 4 1/2 inches in length; two strokes of inpainting to the left of the bottle neck, as well as a small area in the upper left corner; inpainting along the right and left edges; stable craquelures with fills are visible in the fruit and foot of glass to the left; one possible vertical repair in the center, extending approximately 5 inches and only visible in raking light. Under UV light: a thick, greenish varnish layer obscures older inpainting; however, more recent inpainting located in aforementioned areas, as well as in spots throughout center.
