Ernest Trova's (American, 1927-2009) Abstract Variations series delves into the intricate balance between disorder and harmony. Crafting each piece from steel, Trova masterfully conveys the precariousness of this equilibrium, as if each element is teetering on the brink of an impossible collapse. A native of St. Louis and self-taught artist, Trova rose to prominence in the late 20th century, continually exploring man’s adaptations and variations as he moves through life. Trova's generous donation of forty artworks to St. Louis County, Missouri, led to the establishment of Laumeier Sculpture Park, a testament to his enduring impact on both the city and the art world.
