Estimate$200 – $300
Purchased at a country auction near Mason, Michigan. According to Moylan, the auctioneer indicated that these were carved by a Michigan artist by the name of LaVere. Census records from Michigan in the early 20th century suggest that this was a fairly common last name, variably spelled Lavere and Levere, although no one by this name appears to be recorded as an artist.
