31 in. x 25 in. (sight)William King was the first governor of Maine. In October 1880, William King married the nineteen-year-old Bostonian, Ann Nesbeth Frazier (1782-1857), and together they had two children: Mary Elizabeth (1817-1847) and Cyrus William (1816-1881). This portrait, one of the few likenesses to survive to the present, likely descended from Cyrus King and his wife Sarah Oakman Jameson (married October 19, 1853) to their daughter, Ann Nesbeth Frazier (born January 31, 1860), who received her grandmother's full name.
