Little is known about the life of Robert Stauffer, who often lived in and around Marysville, and passed away in February of 2017. He is considered by some to have been a clever carver, painter and potter who created compelling facsimilies of the work of Wilhelm Schimmel and Pennsylvania redware - often with the intent to fool the unwary- while many insist that these carvings and redware items were the work of other artisans. Most of the carvings and pottery offered here are signed by Stauffer, and were purchased from him for their whimsical appeal.
