The unlined canvas in overall fair condition, with paint contractions (craquelure) visible throughout the work, and especially in the upper quadrants: some areas are more stable than others. With similar crazing visible in the bottom tier of the painting. Judging from various evidence of surface soiling and a yellowed varnish, the work would benefit from a light cleaning. Examination under UV light does not reveal any sign of inpainting.
