Jacqueline Lamba’s work was included in the groundbreaking exhibition “31 Women” at Peggy Guggenheim’s Art of This Century gallery in New York in 1941, as well as being featured prominently in several exhibitions of Surrealist artists in the 1930s internationally. Often remembered as the second wife of artist André Breton, Lamba was prolific in her own right, rejecting traditionally feminine roles and determinedly pursuing her artistic career.
