The unlined canvas in overall very good original condition, with faint stretcher bar marks running along the top and bottom outer edges of the painting. Examination under UV light reveals pinpoint dots of inpainting at center right, in the sky (likely old flakes). With some purplish highlights visible in the sky at upper right corner, as well as at center left and center right, in the sky again: most likely loose, broader-than-need-to-be highlights. With a light shiny varnish coat, as evidence by greenish dripping varnish residue at bottom right. See Specialist's pictures for more details.
