[Art] Gritchenko, Alexis. Archive of Letters and Ephemera

Locations vary, ca. 1930-75. Archive related to Ukrainian painter Alexis Gritchenko. Includes 23 autograph letters from Gritchenko's wife, Lilas, 12 of which are signed by the artist in postscript or on mailing envelope (mostly friendly correspondence, regarding payment for works, sending materials for exhibition, etc). Lot also includes: Sa Vie Son Oeuvre (Paris: Editions "Quatre Vents", 1948), #167/300 numbered copies, original glassine and slip case; two copies of Deux Ans a Constantinople (Paris: Edition Quatre Vents, 1930), #21 and "IX" of 305 numbered copies; The Years of Storm and Stress (New York, 1967); two copies of Gritchenko's memoir My Encounters with French Artists... (New York: Alexis Gritchenko Foundation, 1968); and 9 ephemeral exhibition advertisements or brochures.
