Partie Occidentale de la Nouvelle France ou du Canada. Nuremberg: Homann Heirs, 1755. Engraved map hand-colored in outline of the Great Lakes, Canada, and the Northern United States, image 425 x 536 mm (567 x 665 mm sheet). Issued on the eve of the French & Indian War, this map depicts the French territory and includes 4 fictitious islands in Lake Superior, and was closely copied from Bellin's 1745 map of the region. Kershaw 950.
