The man portrayed in this painting is Cisero Murphy, the groundbreaking billiards player who made history in 1965 as the first African American to win the U.S. National Championship. That same year, he also became the first player ever to capture the world title on his very first attempt.
Framed: 39 1/2 x 33 1/2 inches.
Minor surface dirt and dust; slight wear to extreme edges, more notably along the lower edge where some pigment loss is present. Under UV light: certain areas of fluorescence are likely due to the pigment used by the artist; no inpainting is apparent. In overall good and stable condition. Please request additional images.
