Note:

Pol Bury was a pioneer of kinetic art, known for his refined, slow-moving sculptures that challenge perceptions of time, stillness, and form. Originally associated with the CoBrA movement, Bury later turned toward sculpture, creating meticulously engineered works that incorporate subtle motion to animate polished surfaces and geometric forms.

His 1969 work 11 cylindres se reflétant dans une forme courbe exemplifies his poetic approach to movement. Composed of stainless steel and powered by an electric motor, the piece features eleven cylindrical elements that gently shift and reflect within a curved polished form, inviting viewers into a meditative dialogue with time, perception, and reflection.

Bury's restrained kinetics and mirrored surfaces create a delicate choreography that draws attention to micro-movements, making the invisible visible, and elevating silence and slowness into profound aesthetic experiences.

Largely good condition overall. Electric motor is operational and cylinders appear to move relatively slowly. Fingerprints and smudges commensurate with gentle handling, as well as some light surface soiling apparent throughout. Some scattered surface abrasions, primarily on the cylinders.
