Provenance:
Bonhams, Los Angeles, The Elegant Home, February 27-28, 2017, Lot 421
The cabinet and stand appear to be a marriage. Scattered age splits throughout and lifting veneer. Worming throughout, more significant on the chest. The chest also has a break in a back board. There is a key, but the locks in several drawers do not engage and the lock is missing from the bottom proper left drawer. Locks on upper and lower portions have been replaced and the key also works for the top cabinet. The cabinet with a detached portion of veneer and detached portion of molding along the top proper right corner, both sections are retained and could be reattached. The interior of the cabinet with a miniature chapel behind the central door, likely later. This chapel has mirrored panes on the sides, one of which has a crack. Additional images available upon request.
