NOTE:
Charlecote Antiques was an anchor of Kansas City’s historic Crestwood neighborhood across four decades. The shop represented a multi-generational passion for scholarship and collecting with an emphasis on British Furniture and Decorative Arts. Opened in 1980 by Kaye Francis Miller, Charlecote built a reputation for sourcing fine 18th century furniture directly from England with a keen eye on craftsmanship and form. Todd Miller soon followed his mother into the business and further developed Charlecote into a world-class retailer. Todd loved taking trips to Europe to find beautiful and unique items to bring back to the shop. He became a staple of the art fair circuit around the nation and endeared himself to both customers and fellow dealers with his knowledge and willingness to teach others
Seat height 19 1/2 x depth 19 inches.
Appearing in overall good, stable, and ready to place condition. Upholstery is intact aside from some small frayed spots in the top back corners. Some surface dirt and fading visible as well. Old dark marks, scuffs, and scrapes on the legs. Legs have been refinished and have a polished surface. The returns on either side of the front legs are likely old replacements. Diagonal blocks added to the undersides of the front seat rails and some old alterations likely to the construction of the seat for stability. Additional images available upon request.
