Framed dimensions 21 1/4 x 19 x 2 1/4 inches.
Minor deposits of surface dirt and dust; paper has rippled along the upper and lower support edges; scattered craquelures in the upper right corner, lower right corner, and lower left corner, as well as one horizontal crack running through the center, approximately 9 inches in length, some of which has been previously inpainted; an area of sheet loss to the extreme upper right edge; pinpoint to small paint losses scattered in the lower right corner; one paint loss in the lower left corner, with in the "c" of the signature; pinpoint to small spots of inpainting scattered throughout, visible primarily only under raking light; instances of frame abrasions along all edges; under a highly reflective varnish. Under UV light: selective cleaning of the varnish is evident in the skin tones of the two central figures; the pinpoint to small spots of inpainting throughout fluoresce, as does the previously inpainted horizontal line in the center.
