stable and sturdy; with professionally reupholstered seats, the inner parts of seat frames have been reinforced with later wood supports / framing for modern use- fully functional; likely refinished, but with nice rich surface, having some selective filmy or hazy finish; with some scuffing and scraping to legs and some edges commensurate with age and use, and with some occasional surface loss or chipping along beaded edges of legs; armchair 1: crestrail joints tightened, and with a couple mends evident, the bottom terminals of armrests have been reattached / repinned to frame, the left-facing arm rest with repaired split or break to tip, the shoe has been reattached / repinned, age split to center stretcher; side chair 1: shoe reattached / repinned; small age crack to back of splat; side chair 2: with some scattered abrasions / scuffs to edges of both stiles, the shoe has been reattached / repinned, slight looseness or separation to back stretcher / leg joints, back stretcher joints have been reattached / secured, with patches visible; side chair 3: with tightened crestrails joints, the crestrail / stile attachments with a couple mends, the left center of crestrail with repaired break, shoe reattached / repinned; armchair 2: shoe reattached / repinned, the plugged pins to armrest bottom terminals visible, but these appear to be the old attachments, some minor surface abrasions to splat; side chair 4: with some minor scuffing / abrasions to edges of stiles, shoe has been reattached / repinned, with minor age cracks to legs; side chair 5: crestrail / stile joints have been tightened / reattached, with some repairs evident, the left center of crestrail with repaired break, shoe has been reattached / repinned, center stretcher reattached, slight split to front right-facing leg rear at stretcher joint; side chair 6: with some scuffing / abrasions to back right of crestrail, shoe reattached / repinned; each chair with modern upholstery, the fabric is relatively clean overall, with only minor occasional spots or stains indicative of use
