overall in a remarkable state of preservation given age, showing signs of honest wear commensurate with age and use; the marble top appears to be original, showing old minor occasional knicks or chips along edges, and with some mild occasional scratches or abrasions to surface, with a nice mellow tone, with some light darkening commensurate with age; the frame is overall sturdy and solid, the feet with some scuffing, abrasions and old surface loss, the leafage with some minor old separation / age cracks; the bottom apron with some splitting and loss to veneer, particularly to right-facing front leg corner / edge, and a small area to front left-facing leg; the upper apron / frame with some scattered losses to veneer, and with some general wear or crackling to varnish or polish; the mirrored back appears to be original, showing wonderful flecking and inclusions indicative of old mercury glass, and with some occasional spots of loss; retains original backboards, one being slightly loose; the marble pilasters appear to be original, the left-facing pilaster slightly loose at bottom, and the giltwood molding has come detached (piece is intact); the gilding and gilt stenciling throughout with some occasional loss; the lower shelf with some minor old age splits to veneer
