these present really nicely; both are lined, and with some minor cracquelure commensurate with age; UV light reveals green fluorescence throughout, mostly to background on lady, and to background and jacket on man; both with some scattered areas of retouching or inpainting, including crosshatched touchups (on some possible repaired tears or cracked losses to paint) to background and perimeter, and a couple larger areas to shoulder and upper torso of man, and with small inpainting to blue dress on lady throughout; both frames are period and likely original, and both have been regilded and restored, with only minor occasional surface losses to gilding
