Overall minor wear and scuffs as expected with age and use. Possible old crest rail and splat replacement. The chair was likely disassembled, and reassembled, as evidenced by some re-coloring at junction of crest rail and stiles, later pins and fill at left side inner seat frame to left facing front leg, re-pinning of all leg returns, and to through tenons and pins to back and rear side rails of chair. Minor wear to handholds. The seat rail lowered in front to accommodate alterations to stool chair, with small loss to inner left facing side near stile. Also, a small patch and loss to top of seat rail left facing side. The right facing seat rail with small loss to top and horizontal crack to seat rail. Base of arm supports at seat rail have outer patches. Front right facing leg with crack to inner corner at seat frame; The left facing rear leg with diagonal crack to back near base, does not go through rest of leg and has been reinforced with tiny nails, has subsequent recoloring. Potty seat a late alteration . Original slip seat mended/restored in 1931 (as affixed note states).
