Mountain Meadow: Property from the Collection of Betty and Gordon Moore, Woodside, California

Appearing in overall good, stable and ready to place condition. Old scuffs, scrapes, and dark marks throughout consistent with age and use. The finish is even and glossy. Several age splits throughout; some splits on the doors have been filled. There are holes in the top of the central section of the pediment indicating that there may have originally been a finial. The cabinet with two adjustable shelves. The pilasters on either side of the cabinet open to more shelves. There is a pencil inscription inside one of the cabinet doors indicating dates that the cabinet was moved between houses from 1818 to 1855 (owner's name is not noted). Writing surface and drawers all open and close smoothly. There is a key for the cabinet, for the drawers and writing surface, and a small key for the interior cabinet of the bureau and the pilasters. Locking mechanisms are all functional, but the writing surface is slightly warped, so the lock no longer properly aligns. Additional images available upon request.
