Catalogue Note:
Pierre Nicolas Pillot, also called Jean-Pierre Pillot (1748-1822), maître in 1768. Pillot trained as a menusier in Paris and later settled in Nîmes.
Each example with old scuffs, marks and scratches throughout consistent with age and use. Worming throughout, one example with some heavier worming to proper left side with loss to the baluster-form element below arm rest. Each with dirt and scattered faded stains to upholstery, would advise cleaning or replacement of additional prior to use. Each reblocked on underside. One example with a broken seat-stretcher and replacement elements to end of front and back feet on proper left side of chair (same side as worming damage mentioned earlier).
