Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe (1927-2004) was a renowned Swedish jeweler and silversmith. She earned early success, holding her first exhibition at just 21 years old. Torun spent much of her life living and working in different countries, including France and Germany, where she met legendary artists like Picasso and Matisse and designed jewelry for icons like Billie Holiday and Ingrid Bergman. Her designs are known for their organic forms, minimalist aesthetic, and unique stones, like granite, moonstone, and quartz. In the 1960s, Torun began collaborating with Georg Jensen, designing iconic pieces including the ‘Vivianna’ bangle watch and the ‘Mobius’ Collection. In 1969 she started exclusively designing for the brand. In 1992, King Carl XVI Gustaf awarded her the Prince Eugen medal and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs held a retrospective of her work. Torun remains one of the most successful female silversmiths; her pieces highly collectible and exhibited in elite institutions.
