Original manuscripts, letters, and journals include: "Copy" ALS from "Rob. Cod. Carrington" to William Ennalls, "Merchant at Choptank River, Maryland," including two separate letters from Barbados dated 5 August 1762 and 16 November 1762 respectively, in which matters involving the transport of goods is discussed in detail' (toning, folds, wear to margins including some chipping to edges). -- ALS written to a bank cashier regarding financial matters, 16 August 1845, with Baltimore circular datestamp. -- ALS from "George Rost?" to his wife, in which he discusses work and family matters, Hartford, 29 April 1857, on the letterhead of "George B. Dyer, Lumber, Timber, Shingles and Lath." The writer seems to be employed by the Dyers. -- 9 1/2 x 8 in. album identified in gilt on cover to "Mary Purinton." New York, J.C. Riker, publisher, 1833. Contains beautifully written manuscript entries, primarily poems (wear to album extremities, occasional spotting/soiling throughout). -- 10 1/2 x 8 in. journal identified on the front free endpaper to "Caroline L. Herring, Baltimore, June 23, 1848," containing beautifully written manuscript involving mathematical studies.
