refinished surface, but with traces of historic surface, particularly to recessed areas; top is three-board; feet look fine; the lock slot with patch over front; side panels with expected age cracks and seam separations, some of the cracks / separations with some fill present; right-facing side top molding with about a 6 inch loss to lower edge; left-facing side top molding with some age cracks; left-facing side with shims added to age separation to knee returns; knee returns are all original, and are attached to legs with wrought iron sprigs, a couple possible later nail reinforcements; appears to retain original brasses; long drawer face with small loss along bottom left corner, and with small patch to bottom right corner, some minor age cracks to burl; one short drawer with replaced section along top lip of face, and with small loss to bottom right corner; center drawer retains almost all of the original carving, with some loss to bottom right tendril, and the two volutes with a few age cracks to surface, some minor age cracks along edge of drawer face, small surface loss to upper edge near center; other short drawer with triangular patches to both upper corners; the front and back right-facing feet inner talons to ball-and-claw are patched, with the back left-facing foot inner talon being original; and retains key which functions in lock
