Estimate$10,000 – $30,000
Each with old scuffs, marks and scratches with scattered areas of flaking and loss to gilt decoration. Cornice and base elements presently detached but can be easily reattached to mirror frame with present hardware. The crest and base ornaments are of the same period as the mirror frames but exhibit a different treatment to reverse so we are unable to say with certainty that they are original to frame. One of the dragon elements with reattached wings and tail element, the other example with one wing reattached. The base hippocampi elements with scattered restorations and reattached elements, one example with a small area of loss on foliate spray at base. The gilt decoration is bright and not original but is professionally applied and burnished. One mirror plate with heavier area of loss to silver backing. Each mirror plate exhibits age consistent with the rest of the mirror, likely original. Interior ebonized band of frame with some age splits. Additional images available upon request.

All lots are sold "AS IS," in the condition they are in at the time of the auction, and we and the seller make no representation or warranty and assume no liability of any kind as to a lot's condition. Any reference to condition in a catalogue description or a condition report shall not amount to a full accounting of condition. Condition reports prepared by Freeman's staff are provided as a convenience and may be requested from the Department prior to bidding.
