The reference 2479J, produced during this golden era, is a rare and exquisite example of Patek Philippe’s craftsmanship. This particular model stands out with its bold design, untouched dial and sharp, clear hallmarks on the case.
Powered by the revered Caliber 9-90, a rhodium-finished movement featuring a Gyromax balance and a swan-neck micrometer, it’s as mechanically impressive as it is visually stunning. The silvered dial features applied facetted baton markers, a subsidiary seconds subdial, and slender baton hands for a clean, sophisticated mid-century look. The rectangular stepped case, with its gently curved glass, half-hooded lugs offers a timeless design. Every component — from the movement and dial to the case was meticulously produced. The engraving on the back is equally beautiful and timeless “Because I Love You Always and Always”.
Bracelet size: Approx. 6 3/4 - 8 1/4
Overall Condition: Slight discoloration to dial consistent with age and use. Small scratch to crystal in top left corner. Case back is engraved "Because I love you always and always". The watch winds, sets and runs at the time of cataloguing but has not been timed for accuracy.
Please note that Freeman’s Hindman does not warranty the watch at the time of the auction or after its purchase. Potential buyers should be advised that though the watch may be running at the time of cataloging, it may stop running before the auction and servicing is recommended for all timepieces. The authenticity of individual parts is not guaranteed since repairs and restoration may have occurred. Hindman assumes all watches are unisex and does not specify the gender of a piece. For size reference, please see the case measurements of the piece listed under dimensions.
