Note:
Major William Perkins was the son of William and Elizabeth (Palfrey) Perkins of Boston, Massachusetts. He married Abigail Cox in 1763. He is a celebrated Revolutionary War figure, starting as a lieutenant in the Massachusetts Artillery in 1775 and advancing to Major in the Third Continental Artillery. He fought in five colonies, including at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. After the War, he was commander of the Castle Island fort in Boston from 1785-1798.
