Note:
Paulina Bass Cony (1787-1857) was born in Hallowell, Kennebac, Maine. As the inscription suggests, her father, Daniel Cony, likely gifted this pair of cups to her on her wedding day. She married Hon. Nathan Weston, Jr. on May 13, 1809.
Daniel Cony (1752-1842) was a physician, judge, militia officer in the Revolution, and later a politician in what became the state of Maine. During the Revolutionary War, he served as an officer in the Massachusetts militia during various engagements in the northern theater.
