Lot Note:

The present work is a variant of the artist's Still Life with Kettle and Green Glass, 1914, in the collections of the National Gallery, Prague.

Framed: 29 x 34 1/2 x 2 1/2 in.

Canvas is laid to board and margins are trimmed. Minor deposits of surface dirt and dust; one line of horizontal inpainting extending along the upper left edge, approximately 5 inches; the highly reflective varnish makes it difficult to discern additional areas of inpainting under normal viewing conditions. Under UV light: the aforementioned line of inpainting fluoresces; otherwise the thick varnish prohibits viewing of any additional apparent inpainting. Additional images available upon request.
