In May 2024, Freeman’s was honored to have facilitated the auction of The Private Collection of Secretary Madeleine K. Albright. Madame Secretary Albright possessed a legendary collection of fine jewelry including her distinctive collection of brooches, as well her collection of fine and decorative art, souvenirs and materials she’d acquired throughout her distinguished career. Her Bulgari white gold and diamond Fireworks choker sold for well above initial estimates, commanding $24,890. Another notable piece, her burl wood standing jewelry box netted $9,170, well beyond its estimated sale price of $400 to $600. Her Christian Dior bag, estimated to sell for between $800 to $1000, ultimately netted $5,240.

Freeman's New York art auction house recently achieved notable successes, including the $3 million sale of the Glen de Vries estate, Time & Space: Watches from the Collection of Glen de Vries, where 95% of lots were sold.

The New York season also witnessed auction records for two pieces. LaToya Ruby Frazier's 2008 photograph, Momme, from the Joe Baio Collection (Forever Young: Photographs), commanded $50,400. Additionally, Francis Speight’s 1930 painting, White House with Variations, realized $126,000 within the Judith and Philip Sieg Collection (Canvas & Clay), which featured consequential American fine art and modern pottery from the 19th and 20th centuries.
